US BURGER HEAVEN IN THE RUHRPOTT! FIVE GUYS OPENS IN ESSEN

Only a few days after the opening of the first German branch in Frankfurt, Five Guys has now also opened its gates in Essen. We were there for you live and had an exclusive look behind the scenes of the Burger US import.

Choosing the Ruhr area as the second location in Germany may sound unusual for many fans of the chain, but in our opinion Five Guys made the right decision. With one of the largest catchment areas in Germany, Limbecker Platz in Essen is the perfect choice.

The spacious shop area is located right next to the main entrance of the huge Essen shopping center and offers seats in the interior as well as a seating island directly in the passage.for More Latest Fast Food Menu Prices Visit: fastfoodmenuprice.co.uk

78 employees, whose shoulders can be looked directly over the shoulder in the open kitchen, will now ensure maximum burger enjoyment in Essen. Orders are placed in the checkout area, the cooks get started while you are paying. Every burger, sandwich or hot dog is freshly made for you here, you won't find any hot plates here (luckily). In the waiting area it is now a matter of anticipation to watch when your number is called.

Five Guys Motto:

Never frozen! (Eng. never frozen) The only thing that is frozen behind the counter are the delicious milkshakes. In addition to the usual flavors, these are also available in unusual varieties such as bacon or salted caramel. If you can't decide, you can mix the creamy shakes according to your taste and top it with whipped cream to finish.

Fast food chains USA:

The meat that ends up on the huge burgers comes from Five Guys from Ireland. It is important here that the cattle are raised without grain fodder. The resulting high meat quality is completely convincing in terms of taste. Also Read Best Fast Food Chains in USA Detailed.

When it comes to the menu, Five Guys remains true to the tried and tested concept of “the smaller the better”. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon burgers or bacon cheeseburgers are available in their original size or in the “Little” version.

If you don't feel like a burger, you can choose from four different hot dogs or sandwiches. All variants can be supplemented with any amount of free toppings as you wish. We chose our first Essen Bacon Cheeseburger with Jalapenos, Fried Onions, Fried Mushrooms and Mayo.

The burger bun has all the properties that are important for a good burger. It tastes neutral, slightly sweet, is fluffy and holds the burger together thanks to its tight texture. The burger chain currently has the buns produced in France according to the original Five Guys recipe.

We had the exclusive privilege of watching the French fries cut at the opening. Carefully selected potatoes are freshly cut in the back rooms and immediately fried into crispy fries in the kitchen. Here you have the choice between salt or Cajun spice, a Creole spice mixture from the southeastern USA. The “Fries” are available in small, regular and large. Beware, “Large” really is Large. Two hungry people can easily be satisfied as a side dish to the burger of the size “medium”.

And then there is the drinks machine, which we already learned to love in the USA. Coca Cola offers over 100 types of different beverage combinations with a touch display.

Who hasn't wanted to try grape-flavored Sprite or Fanta peach? Now you also have the opportunity here in Germany. The refill concept from the USA applies, so you can refill your cup as often as you want.

Anyone wondering about the white sacks with red prints in the restaurant are welcome to take a closer look. Free peanuts in the burger shop? Naturally! With this beautiful marketing campaign, Five Guys draws attention to a special concept; here they only fry with peanut oil. So why not snack on some peanuts while you wait for your meal?

How was our impression of Five Guys Germany in Essen?

We experienced a motivated, very friendly team, ate explosive fresh burgers and fries and drank creamy shakes. Five guys, you've finally arrived in Germany and the long journey hasn't changed you, the burgers taste like one in your shops in the USA.

THE BEST FAST FOOD CHAINS IN THE USA

The average American loves to eat out, and it is best to do it quickly and easily. This aspect has made the boom of fast food chains in the last few decades. Even as a tourist in the USA, you can't avoid the fast food shops.

They are arranged like an avenue on all major roads in cities. The advantage of fast food is in the name. It's quick and saves time, and fast food is far cheaper than meals in a restaurant. In contrast to SitDown restaurants, the many fast food chains do not have waiters but self-service. So you don't have to pay a tip.

McDonalds and Burger King are of course the market leaders, just like here in Germany, but there are definitely alternative shops that you can test out during your trip.

The Sonic chain impresses with its unique ordering system. There is no seating area there, but either a drive thru or a drive in. In the latter, you order at one of the many terminals in the car, pay and some time later a waitress brings the goods to the car. The food is then eaten directly in front of the terminal, known as the stall.

Jack in The Box

A burger chain with a beautifully mixed range of large beef burgers, but also chicken and special offers. The fries are fried in their peel.

Wendys

This chain advertises with "Old Fashioned" Hamburgers. It is also in the lower price segment, but is more expensive than McDonalds and Burger King.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is Best Fast Food Restaurant

Burgers, fries and soft drinks: If you are in a hurry, you want to be served quickly and you also expect quality, friendliness and cleanliness. But not all restaurants can offer that. The German Institute for Service Quality examined six fast-food restaurants and eight fast-food restaurants on behalf of the television broadcaster n-tv. We introduce the winners and losers.

Fast food isn't always quick

In addition to the waiting times, the German Institute for Service Quality also checked the friendliness of the employees and the cleanliness of the branches. The result: fast food is not always quick. Some test customers had to wait up to 15 minutes.

In addition, the testers criticized the taste and freshness of the dishes in every fourth case. "In addition, the cleanliness in the branches often gave rise to criticism. Dirty floors and, above all, poor hygiene in the toilets attracted negative attention," said Bianca Möller, managing director of the market research institute, to n-tv.

Friendliness was one of the strengths of the employees. If the ordered food was complained about, the employees reacted professionally: in three quarters of the cases a replacement was offered.

It was more difficult with other complaints: "Not even half of the employees responded appropriately when a customer complained about defects such as dirty tables," explains service expert Möller.

"KFC" is the test winner of the fast food restaurants

"Kentucky Fried Chicken" took first place in the fast food category. In addition to friendliness and cleanliness, the fast food restaurant also scored points when it came to handling complaints.

The German Institute for Service Quality also gave good ratings for the range, quality and taste of the dishes. The long opening times of around 93 hours per week were also rated positively.

Second place went to "McDonald's". The fast food restaurant was at the forefront when it came to the choice of dishes. According to the market researchers, the tastiest and highest quality food and drinks were to be found here. The handling of complaints turned out to be in need of improvement. "McDonald's" performed worst here compared to other fast food providers.

Third place went to "Burger King". The waiting times averaged one minute - that was the best value among the fast food chains. Although the variety of dishes was not quite as rich, the market researchers praised the freshness and taste of the dishes.

The tables, which are often dirty or not cleared, were noticeable negatively. In terms of interior design, "Burger King" could not score either. Fourth place went to "Subway", "Kochlöffel" and "Pizza Hut" came in fifth and sixth.

These are the fast-food test winners

"Marché Restaurants" received the title "Best Fast Food Restaurant" in the fast-paced restaurant category. The company did best in all areas. The market researchers particularly praised the appealing ambience, the rich offer and the friendliness and helpfulness of the employees. The waiting times are also short and the long opening times are an advantage.

"RestaurantCafé" landed in second place and, in addition to friendly and fast service, also scored points with a nice environment and fresh and delicious dishes. Third place went to "Le Buffet". Among other things, the environment, the rich offer, the cleanliness and the short waiting times were convincing.

Fourth place went to "Ikea", and fifth place to "Dinea". Subway, Gosch, Nordsee and Vapiano landed in the lower ranks with a "satisfactory" rating.

Why Is Fast Food So Unhealthy? Lets Deep Dive into it in 2021

Many people think of unhealthy food when they hear the word "fast food". However, this is only partially true, all food consists of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and more or less organic substances such as vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Whether the food is unhealthy or not depends on the ratio of the ingredients. There are many different types of fast food, each with a different ratio of ingredients, for example the ratio of ingredients in a kebab is very different than in a burger or pizza.

Fast Food So Unhealthy:

Fast food makes you fat but not full. Fast food hardly contains any vitamins and minerals, but lots of salt, fat and carbohydrates. Because you eat too much due to the low fiber content and it has such a high fat content, you quickly become fat due to the frequent distortion of fast food.

A citizen, for example, usually contains too much fat and too few minerals, trace elements and vitamins, but the poor ratio of ingredients can be compensated for by healthy side dishes such as a salad or orange juice with the burger. A kebab also has a lot of fat, but mostly different types of lettuce that provide vitamins.

But eating fast food every now and then does not harm the body, only constant consumption is unhealthy for people. However, this does not only apply to fast food, but any type of unbalanced diet is unhealthy for people or has negative effects on health.

Many fast food products, especially burgers etc., often taste salty or sweet and are often made particularly attractive to the consumer with flavor enhancers. In takeaways, food is often fried, which also makes the food richer in calories.

In addition, fast food is not consumed slowly and quietly, but is mostly eaten on the go or quickly. The enrichment of saliva, which is achieved by frequent chewing, is important for digestion. Since the food is not immediately filling due to its low fiber content, it leads to overeating and a burden on digestion. Therefore, you should take a little more time to eat and not cram it into yourself.

Since the fast food trend, obesity has risen sharply in the US and Germany. The big fast food chains reacted to this and deleted the supersize menus from their menus and increased the range of salads, which, however, did not have a great effect. The problem is that people who go to a fast food restaurant go there to have burgers and fries and not to eat a salad. What are the ingredients in fast food and how important are they?

Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates are the energy suppliers of the cells, they include the sugar forms: simple, double and multiple sugars. Multiple sugars found in cereals, potatoes, bread etc. are broken down by the body and brought into the bloodstream, which creates a feeling of satiety. Complex sugars with a lot of fiber keep the blood sugar level up much longer than simple sugars. Fast food such as ready-made meals or French fries only contain simple sugars. It satisfies the hunger briefly, but the satiety decreases after 20-30 minutes.

Protein:

The ingested protein is broken down into amino acids in the body and is added to the body's own protein chains in the bloodstream. Protein is particularly important for muscle movements, the entire immune system and body structure. The suitable food for this is small amounts of meat or fish.

Fat:

Humans need the nutrient fat to maintain their health

The energy and flavor carrier fat is very important for the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Unused fat is stored in unpopular fat stores, which the body can access at any time when it needs it.

The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily fat requirement of 60 to 70g of fat. The average, however, is 80 to 100g. A currywurst, for example, contains 55 to 60g of fat, which means that you consume around 85% of the recommended daily allowance.

It is very difficult to adhere to the recommended value. A menu at McDonalds with a BigMäc, chef's salad and French fries contains about 67g of fat, so it is impossible to stick to the recommended value if you consume fast food very often.

The consequences of permanently increased fat consumption are obesity, the consequences of which are joint problems, metabolic, heart and circulatory problems.

Fiber:

Dietary fiber is a biologically necessary food component that cannot be used by the human organism, but ensures that digestion is regulated and without constipation or other digestive problems arise

Diet: Is Eating Out In A Restaurant Unhealthy Than Fast Food

The more expensive the better? Not necessarily! A British study compared restaurant meals with snacks and came to a surprising result.

What is eaten is what is on the table - we only have control over what that is when we swing the wooden spoon ourselves. If you eat out of the house, you might think that a restaurant is always a better choice compared to fast food. But that's not always the case.

Calorie content often unknown:

The University of Liverpool compared what is served in British restaurant and fast food chains.

21 of them were restaurant chains, six were fast food chains - i.e. places where you order at the counter and then eat your meal on site or take it away.

The researchers wanted to challenge the popular belief that you eat better if you sit down at a table in a restaurant and order a meal there.

We have learned to pay attention to ingredients and preparation methods. An essential point that we quickly forget and about which our innkeepers like to leave us in the dark is the calorie content of the dishes on offer.

How many calories can it be?

The study refers to the recommendation from Public Health England that lunch and dinner should not contain more than 600 calories. But those who eat outside often consume more calories.

A main course in one of the fast food restaurants examined contained an average of 751 calories - a comparable lunch or dinner in a restaurant had an astonishing 1,033 calories.

Many of us go out to eat more and more often, so that adds up to a lot. 89 percent of restaurants and 83 percent of fast food places exceed the recommended limit of 600 calories.

More transparency and smaller portions:

A study by the University of Boston came to similar results when it compared restaurant and fast food menus from the United States, Brazil, Finland, China, Ghana, and India.

Almost all of them offered dishes that were too high in calories - 94 percent of restaurants and 72 percent of snacks. Only China also had a good selection of dishes that were not caloric enough.

The researchers pointed out that additional side dishes, appetizers, desserts and drinks are responsible for more calories. What could help

First of all, more transparency and information - the calorie information on the menu would be a real help. In addition, more flexibility by offering smaller portions at an appropriately lower price would be desirable.

Then many of us would not have to wonder why we have difficulties keeping our weight under control despite exercise and a supposedly healthy diet.
